"Education, to me, means nurturing instinctive curiosity and holding space for a student to explore, push boundaries, fail, get up and begin anew." - Alia

Voice Lessons

I believe that healthy singing requires healthy technique and mindfulness of the body and mind. Thus, I always teach based on classical Western tradition as a foundation fused with mindfulness practices and dynamic adjustability to meet each individual student's needs. My travels have taught me numerous approaches, which I integrate naturally. Each voice and body demonstrates its own challenges, capacities, and gifts. In addition, my students also have the opportunity to learn how to read sheet music, basic music theory, songwriting, and how to sing in several foreign languages. Duo/Couples lessons, as well as Group classes (3-10 people), are available. For full lessons, I will always arrange for professional live accompaniment unless pre-recordings are favored. Make sure to take advantage of a free 20-minute consultation and introduction!

Acting + Movement Lessons

I offer private and group sessions to help with monologs, scenes, general acting skills, movement for the stage, and audition prep. My dance background spans ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, dancehall, jazz, and musical theatre.  All ages welcome!

Applied Theatre/ Community Sessions

Private, small and large group sessions for all ages. These sessions are best implemented over longer periods or in workshop style. This work's goal is to create a space and vehicle to share narratives, learn group collaboration and learn to manage, dissect and transform difficult topics and issues. In some cases, I will work with a fellow educator or social worker to ensure the participant's healthy engagement in the topics. Here a few topic examples I've worked on in the past:

  • Girl's empowerment (10-18)

  • Creative space and empowerment for underserved youth in Ghana, and with Druze, Israeli and Arab-Israeli youth

  • Inter-generational narrative sharing

  • Cross-cultural narrative sharing

  • Teaching English as a second language through performance

  • Diversity exploration on a collegiate undergraduate campus (Brandeis University)

  • Diversity Training: Unpacking privilege in a professional setting (The University of Colorado at Boulder; Leeds School of Business)

  • BoCo Strong Resilient Communities (with Beth Osnes)

  • Youth Leadership Training (University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, CO)
